RE: leave the propane on?

Yes while driving and Yes at home.
No once winterized and stored for the season
Could not have said it better myself
Again same here
Propane traveling, 110 when ever available, both at CG and in driveway
Fire up fridge 2 days before first trip and will shut it down when its winterized.

RE: Eternabond use

Quick question for those who have used it (Eternabond).
Do you slap it over the original sealant.
Or remove the factory sealant then apply.

RE: Water Heater Question

My hot water heater has a saftey cut off, simply put if the flame goes out the supply lines cool and the cutoff does its job - stops the flow of propane.
Our dealer told me on our walk through to use a BBQ lighter to heat up the saftey cut off.
It takes about 30 seconds to heat it up for a good flow.

RE: Table in camper problems

You should be able to replace them no problem.
There was a similar post on here a while back that suggested traveling with the table up puts stress on the brackets which leads to falure.
So when you replace them make shure you travel with your table down.
Cheers

RE: # 6 Highway through Vanceboro Maine

Quick update, Just got back from our trip south of the border and we decided to go the #4 #6 route through Vanceboro, the road was excellent except for a 20 mile stretch on the south of Vanceboro, and that wasn't so bad, it was well worth the few bumps as we had no line up at customs going in or out, just drove up answered 3 or 4 questions and were on our way, I can only imagine what the waits were at the Calias crossing this afternoon.

RE: # 6 Highway through Vanceboro Maine

This past June we crossed at St. Stephen going to/from NB. Not a long wait at the border, but your experience may vary. Route 9 from Calais to Bangor was a very good 2 lane road.
We crossed at Calais/ St.stephens during our vacation 1st to 17th of Aug, and the line ups werent too bad.
35 min going in and 45 going back into NB.
My concern is comming home on Monday and it being the last long weekend of the summer (on both sides of the border) that the line ups will be longer.
Crossing into ME shouldnt be a problem as we plan on hitting the border at or around 1 PM tomorrow. its getting back on monday around 5 PM that worries me.

# 6 Highway through Vanceboro Maine

Heading to Bangor for the Long weekend, and trying to avoid the long line ups at the border, after checking out different routes on mapquest, we are considering the #4 from Fredericton NB crossing at Vanceboro ME. then the # 6 to the I95, and the reverse route heading home. I understand the route takes us through some small towns and the roads are tight, I am not so concerned with this, however I am concerned with possible "pot holes" and what not.
Any input on the road conditions allong this route would be much appreciated

RE: How long do you store fresh water

I dump my FW tank as I am pulling away from the sewer dump station.
once the gray and black tanks are dumped I put chemicals and 3 or so gallons of fw in each, after that the remaining FW is extra weight I dont want to haul home.

RE: Filling propane tanks

All depends on where and when they run down.
Just spent two weeks on vacation and had all 3 of my tanks run down,
just took em to the office at the camp ground and had em filled.
Last year 2 of them were empty before vacation so I took em off and took them to the local gas station in the trunk of my car to have them filled.
What ever is convienent is what I do.

RE: Towing OVER capacity..... too many doing this....

Saw a set up last week while on vacation in Maine.
A late 90's Chev sedan pulled in towing a single axle 70's or 80's vintage TT.
No Weight distribution, No Sway control, No brakes, No lights,
back end almost dragging on the ground, electric hook up from the Trailer was dragging on the ground so that is what tipped me off to the no brakes and lights.
I assume this was a local with not a lot of cash getting out with friends/family for a weekend,
Did I say anything? No was not my place to comment and the individual probably already aware of how unsafe the rig was anyhow.
In his defence he did show up with the trailer by himself unhook set up then left and picked up his passengers which included a 3 or 4 year old child with out the trailer, good for him on that point.Point I'd make on that topic is a bad setup is a bad setup no matter what vehicle is in front. He could have had your Nissan in front, and with everything else wrong he still would have been unsafe. The fact he was using a car is almost not important in light of everything else that was wrong.
Agreed, just pointing out an observation.
I would be a fool to think people question my set up.
That said I would never venture out with out basic saftey in mind, something this individual apparently didn't consider.

RE: 30 or 50 amps

believe your TT is wired for 30 amp. Mine is. Don't know what would happen if you plug into 50.
Absolutely nothing.
Now if you were to plug into 15 that’s a different story.

RE: propane explosion

I know of a guy that was blowing up balloons with a propane torch for a birthday party while smoking, you can guess what happened next he ended up with bad burns and no hair and his son got burns also but not as bad ,you would have thought he would known better then that.
...this is more commonly referred to as "thinning the herd" :)
Like Ron White says "you can't fix stupid"
